The Female hormones get converted in to male hormones in the fatty tissue leading to development of Hairs. Rarely gross hormonal imbalance may be the cause. Facial hairs and body hairs are a bother for women.

Nose is the most prominent feature of the face. The nose may be deviated to one side; it may be too long, too short, too broad or some times may even have more than one problem. Breathing difficulty may also be present.

Purpose : To give the nose a shape suitable for the face and an adequate air passage

Procedure : Correction of the shape and size of nose the most commonly performed cosmetic surgery. All the procedures are done from inside the nose so that there are no visible scars outside. Some times the lifting of the dorsum of nose may require use of Implants

Recovery : Hospital stay for nose job is just one day. Generally one week is the time for recovery when most of swelling subsides. Slight marks may remain around the eye. These will clear in 3 weeks.

Longevity : Changes once made are Permanent. Some times small correction may be required after 6 months.

My Face is not Photogenic or I have a bad smile’ is a common concern. People hide their faces while smiling or laughing. A good smile is dependent on the correct proportions of the facial features and of course, good set of teeth.

Why A Face is not Photogenic : How you look depends on how the bones of your face are. The growth of bones from childhood to adult depends on the genes that you have inherited from your parents. In addition, factors like nutrition, injury or illness may affect the growth of your facial bones. As a result the face bones either become bigger or remain small. This may occur on one side or both. There is always a difference of the two sides of the face.

The effect is most prominently seen on your nose. The nose may appear deviated to one side, it may be too long, too short or too broad. But some times it may be completely normal. Similarly the bones of cheek may be more prominent or less prominent. The upper and lower jaw may grow more or slightly less, thus grossly altering the face and your smile, even the position of teeth may be disturbed.

These small variations from normal may not interfere with your life but they tend to stand out in photographs. My Face is not Photogenic, I don’t look good when I Smile, is what you would generally think.

Procedure : An evaluation of the bones of face is done using photographs and cephalogram (a special X-Ray) and correction is planned. Correction of the bones of the face is under taken, either by adding implants of silicon or other material over the surface of the bone; this is generally required for the cheek bones. The bones of face are cut and moved in the right direction. All the cuts are made in side the mouth and no marks are seen from out side. some times a dental treatment is also required before or after the surgery to improve the smile.

Recovery : Generally one week is the time for recovery in most of these surgeries. Hospital stay may be for 3-4 days. Most of the swelling of the face goes by one week. Generally you can go back to normal work in 3 weeks.

Longevity : Permanent
